# Food As Function
## Introduction
I have lost 100lbs from 2019 to 2024 (from 340 to 240). Currently (06/2024) Im at 260. I had a kitchen flood in 2020 which resulted in regressing to fast food and gaining weight back.
This year Ive been ultra focused on diet and exercise. Burning more calories than Im taking in.
The second half of this year Im ultra focused on being CTO (build/ship/sell products and services), and performing at my maximum capacity while doing so . Food intake is a huge part of that, as is schedule optimization which Ive released as a simultaneous blog post with this one and you can read (link tbd).
## Systemic approach
I want a comprehensive system for food sourcing and procurement, preparation, storage and consumption.
High levels of automation, consistency, reliability. Minimum amount of time after initial setup.
### System components
#### Sourcing and procurement
#### Preparation
#### Storage and Consumption
### The food itself
#### Framework
I want to arrange my consumption as follows (Monday to Saturday, I usually have a “cheat day” Sunday and try new restaurants and foods etc then)
* light (in overall calories) (carb and fruit focused) breakfast (to fuel deep work all day)
* heavy (in overall calories) (protein/vegetable focused) lunch
* light (a snack really) dinner
Generally I like all of my meals warm/hot (toasted bread / panini / suvie etc). Im trying to avoid using microwave as that removes so much flavor.
Im eating only natural ingredients I can see / pronounce. Ive been on a journey for a year to completely eliminate preservatives/additives/stabilizers (PAS) from my diet. If I cant see/pronounce something, I dont want it in my body. Since focusing on the removal of PAS, my quality of life has significantly improved. Higher energy levels, less tired, sleep better etc.
