The Asus RT-AC65P router is identical with the RT-AC85P, but better to make separate images for it. On both routers the installation can be done also via SSH: Note: The user/password for SSH is identical with the one used in the Web-interface. 1. Complete the initial setup wizard. 2. Activate SSH under "Administration" -> "System". 3. Transfer the OpenWrt factory image via scp: > scp openwrt-ramips-mt7621-asus_rt-ac65p-squashfs-factory.bin admin@192.168.50.1:/tmp 4. Connect via SSH to the router. > ssh admin@192.168.50.1 5. Write the OpenWrt image to flash. > mtd-write -i /tmp/openwrt-ramips-mt7621-asus_rt-ac65p-squashfs-factory.bin -d linux 6. Reboot the router > reboot Changelog: v3: removed [] from filename, rebased to latest master v2: Rebased to latest master v1: Initial release Signed-off-by: Gabor Varga <vargagab@gmail.com>

To build your own firmware you need a Linux, BSD or MacOSX system (case sensitive filesystem required). Cygwin is unsupported because of the lack of a case sensitive file system. You need gcc, binutils, bzip2, flex, python3.5+, perl, make, find, grep, diff, unzip, gawk, getopt, subversion, libz-dev and libc headers installed. 1. Run "./scripts/feeds update -a" to obtain all the latest package definitions defined in feeds.conf / feeds.conf.default 2. Run "./scripts/feeds install -a" to install symlinks for all obtained packages into package/feeds/ 3. Run "make menuconfig" to select your preferred configuration for the toolchain, target system & firmware packages. 4. Run "make" to build your firmware. This will download all sources, build the cross-compile toolchain and then cross-compile the Linux kernel & all chosen applications for your target system. Sunshine!
