Older flex versions require there be no space between options and their arguments. For example '-P zconf' is not correct and should be '-Pzconf'. This is for example the case for flex-2.5.4 shipped with CentOS 5.8. Crosstool-NG follows the autoconf dance. So, to get you
kick-started, just run:
./configure --help
If you are using a development snapshot, you'll have to
create the configure script, first. Just run:
./bootstrap
You will find the documentation in the directory 'docs'.
