- Move companion_* to comp_* to match the kconfig symbols
- Replace bootstrap with former gen-versions.sh
- Fold *.in.2 into their respective first parts; this moves common
options to the end - if it is undesirable, inclusion of *.in
can be moved where *.in.2 used to be (but that will also move
version selection after common options).
- Retire addToolVersion.sh (may later replace with a more
comprehensive script that tries to download the added tarballs,
copy the patches and try to apply them, and create a version.desc).

Instead, prepare the files as a part of bootstrap and install them.
This avoids rebuilding these files in each working directory; they
don't change anyway as they are generated from the same installed
source.

... enabled by default for multilib and disabled otherwise. Buildroot
has been complaining about /etc/ld.so.conf presence for almost a year
now and I missed that.
After the release, xldd will be modified to query the compiler for
the list of multilibs to search. This would be too invasive change
before 1.23, though.
Note that it may lead to configurations where xldd currently does not
find the libraries (if both DEMULTILIB and CREATE_LDSO_CONF are turned
off). This is not the default setting in Kconfig, though.

Enable definition of "Use __cxa_atexit" for bare-metal systems, if the used
libc does provide such a function. The libc configuration have to select
LIBC_PROVIDES_CXA_ATEXIT.

There is no need to differentiate the win32 threads case, since we
can cosider them to be the native implementation on Windows.
Besides, with the previous patch, nothing uses it anymore.
So, just remove it.

Use a more coherent naming for the options. This will help commonalise
the native case (e.g. NPTL on Linux, win32 on Windows), and add alternate
implementations (e.g. musl.)

kconfig bools are disabled by default, so specifying 'default n' is useless and
noisy. This patch removes all occurrences of 'default n'.

Building non-threaded glibc has been unsupported for a long time, now:

As eglibc is a spin-off of glibc: ditto.
So do not offer that possibility in the menuconfig.

Add the option to build a cross-compiler for kernel type 'mingw'.
The resulting cross-compiler can be used to build applications on a Linux host
that can be run on a Windows target.
Compiler is build using the mingwrt and w32-api packages aviable from the
MinGW project (http://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw).
The windows headers (w32-api package) are extracting with the kernel_headers
step The libraries and other headers from both packages are build and
installed in the various steps of libc

Some components have configuration options that can depend on
generic options, so they should go below those.
uClibc for example:
- has its own options (wchar...)
- uses the generic options (threads...)
- if linuxthreads chosen, offers two impls
So we need to be able to split the components options in 2,
one part that is above the generic options, and one part that
ends up below the generic options.
- the threading models available are dependent on the C library used
- it is thus easier to first select the C libary, and then the threading model, rather going back to the toolchain menu.

Unfortunately, that's because the previous repo got damaged beyond repair and I had no backup.
That means I'm putting backups in place in the afternoon.
